Kookaburras and Hockeyroos at Shenton! |

As some of you may be aware, the installation of the blue turf at Shenton, our home turf in which we have a 50% ownership interest, has recently been completed. I am pleased to announce that Shenton will be hosting an international test series involving the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos. The men will be playing the following fixtures at Shenton turf: Kookaburras v Australia A on Wednesday, 8 February 2012 at 3.45pm Netherlands v Argentina on Wednesday, 8 February 2012 at 5.45pm Kookaburras v Australia A on Tuesday, 14 February 2012 at 3.45pm Netherlands v Argentina on Tuesday, 14 February 2012 at 5.45pm Australia A v Netherlands on Thursday, 16 February 2012 at 3.45pm Kookaburras v Argentina on Thursday, 16 February 2012 at 5.45pm The women will be playing the following fixtures at Shenton turf: Hockeyroos v Korea on Tuesday, 6 March 2012 at 5pm Hockeyroos v Korea on Wednesday, 7 March 2012 at 5pm Hockeyroos v Argentina on Tuesday, 20 March 2012 at 5pm Hockeyroos v Argentina on Wednesday, 21 March 2012 at 5pm Thanks to the Board of Shenton, members of Suburban Lions (along with members of the other Owner Clubs) have been given priority booking for the above games. Tickets are $10 for all club members aged 9 and over. Children aged 8 and under have free entry. Suburban Lions is limited to 150 tickets per day at this discounted rate and Shenton's license permits a maximum of 500 spectators at the venue, so be sure to book early. Additional seating has been erected and there will be plenty of food and drink available for purchase. Please contact Wayne Kendle to book your tickets at the discounted rate. Once booked, tickets can be collected at the gate on the day of the match, or can be collected on Saturday mornings from Shenton turf from 10am – noon. This represents a marvellous opportunity for our juniors to view top international hockey at our own home field, and I would urge all parents and club members to seize this opportunity.
