Subs Training Times

--- Mens Training 2010---

Preseason officially ended on Thursday night with a frantically paced 2 km time trial. The honours went to Stef Rayhills but due to Sparkies continuing absence from the country the win was clearly against a second rate field taking some of the elation away. On a more serious note a lot of people have been working really hard and have been showing excellence dedication for the last few months and I think it is really showing with some superb start of season fitness levels. A big thank you goes out Reece who has run a challenging yet entertainingly diverse training program.

Last week saw the arrival of the new 1st coach Ben Senior ( although Pearcy thought it was Ted doing his English accent impersonation for the first 24 minutes of training). To improve my chances of selection after that last comment: Ben's arrival has given the men's team a new sense of purpose and direction that has had an immediate effect on the training intensity as seen on Thursday. Even a usually lazy Razor was putting in effort in the running and strength work.

Training times will continue for the men's teams as per normal for the next few weeks. With the season starting it is essential that everyone gets down to training ( on time !). If anyone hasn't been down yet and wants to have a touch it is not too late and they should come down this week.

* Tuesday - running 8:30 on turf at 9:30

* Thursday - running at 6:30 on turf at 7:30 ( clubba at 9.30?)

Contact Andrew Winter for Further details.

Tuesday night is undeniably a late start but it is crucial to team preparation and cohesion that we get a full attendance to both trainings. Remember everyone else is attending and often you will be indispensable to certain exercises which coaches have planned.

There is also a somewhat unsubstantiated rumour that Suburban Hockey Club legend "Paddy" with be making an appearance pre-round 1 dressed as Mr T to give a prep talk to the boys. Please see rumour co-ordinator James Leiper should any questions about this back-fence talk arise. ---
